چکیده
A5052 aluminum alloy and SPCC steel plates were welded using magnetic pulse welding, interfacial microstructure strength of the lap joint examined. The used for a flyer plate parent plate, respectively. Charging energy stored in capacitor gap between changed. Microstructure was examined by an optical microscope, scanning electron microscope transmission microscope. Tensile-shear test evaluating joint. welding achieved at charging above 6.0 kJ 1.0 mm. range which strong is accomplished different each increased with decreasing gap. not fractured interface tensile-shear whereas fracture occurred part base metal. exhibited characteristic wavy morphology. An intermediate layer produced along interface. Scanning observation revealed that composed fine Al-Mg grains dispersed dendritic Al-Fe intermetallic compound particles.

Dissimilar metals friction welding of austenitic–martensitic stainless steels is commonly used in order to manufacture engine valves in the automobile industry. In this study, X53CrMnNiN219 (austenitic stainless steel) and X45CrSi93 (martensitic stainless steel) valve steel rods were welded by friction welding process. The welded joint was then heat treated at 760 0C for 60 min. Mechanical prop...

متن کاملInvestigation of Standoff Distance Effect on Corrosion Behavior of Explosively Welded Joint between Two Aluminum Plates and Steel
In the present research, the effect of standoff distance on corrosion properties of the joint of three aluminum–steel explosive layers has been studied. For this purpose, the samples were welded with various standoff distance under constant explosive load. Optical Microscopy and Scanning Electron Microscopy were used to measure the quality of the joint and type of interface. Furthermore, point ...

Two different cases regarding the zinc coating at the lap joint faying surface are selected for studying the influence of zinc vapor on the keyhole dynamics of the weld pool and the final welding quality. One case has the zinc coating fully removed at the faying surface; while the other case retains the zinc coating on the faying surface. It is found that removal of the zinc coating at the fayi...
